This conference has been organised to facilitate an open dialogue on where we stand with regard to the climate issue, on the strengths and weaknesses of current climate research, and on the steps that can lead beyond the present impasse.

The conference was organized by the European Climate Forum (ECF), in conjunction with GSD. It was prepared by a scientific committee composed of GSD partners Klaus Hasselmann and Carlo Jaeger; and Diana Mangalagiu (University of Oxford) and Gerd Leippold (Greenpeace International).
